PSP was launched by Sony way back in the era of feature phones. It was phenomenally brilliant in its own ways but didn’t manage to achieve its goal of becoming a pocket-sized PS2. How to Play PPSSPP games on an Android Smartphone?

PPSSPP is a PSP emulator which allows you to run all the files you used to play on your PSP. The compatibility will not be an issue because the modern day smartphones come with improved hardware and software stability. To run PSP games on your Android device you just have to follow these simple steps.

1. Download the PPSSPP emulator for Android from the Google Play Store on your Android smartphone.
2. Now you need PSP ROM for your favorite game that you wish to play on your device. You can easily get the iso file from emuparadise.me. (Download links are at the bottom of the page).
3. If you get the PSP iso in compressed form, then you can use any app like 7-zipper to extract the file on your smartphone. The extraction of the ROM will give you an iso file of the game.

God of War: Ghost of Sparta

Ghost of Sparta was released on PSP way back in 2010. The story revolves around the main character of God of War series, Thanatos who desires to kill the God of Death Thanatos seeking help from his imprisoned brother Deimos. The game is full of many interesting cutscenes with a post-credit which frames the plot for God of War II. Block launcher mods. You can try this one with other God of War PPSSPP games available.

Dragon Ball Z: Tenkaichi Tag Team

This one is a 2v2 RPG game based on the Dragon Ball Z franchise. It offers more than 70 customizable characters from the franchise itself along with their different transformations. The battle modes include 2v2, 1v1 and even 1v2 mode which makes it more interesting. You get deep combo-based combat system, super blast special moves of each character and much more.

Dragon Ball Z: Shin Budokai

It is also one interesting RPG PSP ISO like the Tenkaichi Tag Team. There are a few differences like modes other than 2v2 are not available in Shin Budokai. Call Of Duty: Roads To Victory is a melee combat mission game which is set during the World War 2. It is a first person shooter game for psp where you need to complete missions to get through the story mode.

Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories

For me, it is my personal favorite when compared with other Assassin’s Creed PPSSPP games.

This edition of Final Fantasy franchise is one of the best-selling titles among their other releases and a must play among all the PPSSPP games from the franchise. It is a Japanese RPG with 3 playable characters. Each of the characters in Final Fantasy VII has a different set of weapons, armors, and accessories. The skill set is also different for different characters like attack, summon and magic. FF VII is one of the most played game on PSP with an awesome storyline.

FIFA 14

FIFA is a game preferred by almost all the soccer fans. The important features of FIFA include its license with Official International teams and leagues. FIFA 14 was released in 2013 for all the platforms including PSP. You can enjoy playing FIFA with your favorite team and world-class footballers. And can also play the International tournaments, domestic leagues etc. You even get the option to create your own tournament. Portable Ops is developed and made by the world famous company and respectable name in the gaming community called Konami Computer Entertainment. MGS Portable Ops was released for PSP way back in 2007 and became the favorite of RPG lovers in no time. The infinity mission mode can be played online using captured soldiers on many different maps. Like any other multiplayer shooting games, Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops is an endless arcade fun. You can enjoy it along with other PPSSPP games for Android and Windows.

Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 Portable

SMT Persona 3 Portable is an exceptional game. It packs the story of Persona 3with little improvements from the director’s cut(FES) and a new female lead for the PSP console. This game faces the limitations of PSP but is still a must play game for those who love playing Japanese RPG games. The original Persona 3 storyline will be same throughout.

God Eater Burst

God Eater Burst was released way back in 2011. It is an action based RPG for PSP. It was developed and expanded after the original God Eater. The storyline is very large which can be played in single-player mode. The players can customize their character. The character can give color, skin, hairstyle, outfits, and weapons of your choice. The fans of Japanese TPG games loved this game and will surely love to play it again on the PPSSPP emulator.

Dante’s Inferno

All the fans of God of War series will surely love to play Dante’s Inferno on PPSSPP emulator on your Android and Windows device. The storyline and the basic gameplay doesn’t deviate much from the console version. Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier

It is a little complex and fun-to-play game with a story in the background and lots of action along with puzzles. It has a 3D gameplay which looks magnificently good on PSP despite having a single analog stick. In this game, Jak and Daxter: The Last Frontier, Jak and Daxter are the lead characters who team up with Kiera to help on a quest to save the world from darkness by becoming a sage.

Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles

Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles is an adventure game for PSP. Having a 3D gameplay with enhanced graphics it is a must-play game. It has an awesome storyline. And consists of an interesting unlockable version of “Rondo Of Blood” which is fully optimized for the PSP. It is among one of the high rated PPSSPP games.

Spider-Man 3

For all the Spider-Man movie fans who were disappointed with the Spiderman 3 must know that the game is way better than the movie was. The main storyline remains the same as the PS2 version of the Spider-Man 3 game while the graphics are a bit more refined on the PSP version. The game features more than 50 characters along with 20 different stages. This one is my best pick among all the Naruto games but you can also try other Naruto games which are available as PSP ROM.

Prince Of Persia Revelations

Prince Of Persia Revelations is one of my favorite RPG titles that I love to play on my Android Smartphone. Just like any other game from the series, it has a very interesting storyline and visuals. Play as the iconic Prince and help him on his quest against the Fate’s Demon. He must learn the new art of combat to awake the warrior within and defeat the demon. The game features over 20 levels across the non-linear environment which makes the gameplay even better.

Monster Hunter Freedom Unite

It is probably the biggest game of the Monster Hunter franchise. Freedom Hunter was released way back in 2009. The developers introduced many improvements in its gameplay and the character customization. It has a gameplay of more than 500 hours of action. It comes with a multiplayer option which allows up to 4 players to join and hunt the monsters together.

Yu-Gi-Oh! GX Tag Force 2

Yu-Gi-Oh! GX Tag Force 2 is a game based on the Japanese Anime. The gameplay is pretty much strategic. You can play with a maximum of 2889 cards from the Anime. The developers have also introduced some new characters and some interesting attack animations. Just get prepared to battle the Champion duelists from all over the globe as the Tag Duel Tournament has begun. It is one of the Finest PPSSPP games that you can play on Windows and Android devices.

Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars

Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars is set in the Liberty City, A year after the events of GTA IV. It is different from the other GTA games in terms of the camera view and gameplay.

It doesn’t have any 3rd person view but an aerial camera view, angled a little down and rotates during the action sequences. Huang Lee is the main character of the game and you can play the whole story mode with this character to complete the missions. The unique gameplay makes this GTA game one of the best PPSSPP games for Android and Windows devices.

Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together

Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together is a tactical RPG game which was released back in 2011. It is a remake of the original game which was released back in 1995. Let Us Cling Together is the second title of the Ogre Battle Franchise. And like most of the Japanese RPGs, It also has a very interesting storyline.

Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror

Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror is a tactical, 3rd Person shooter game. It is one of the highest rated games for the PSP console.
Play as the main protagonist, Gabe Logan, a highly trained operative to perform surgical strike missions against a para-military group to stop the project Dark Mirror.

X-Men Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse

X-Men Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse is an RPG based on the X-Men and a few other characters from the Marvel Comics.
It features 15 playable characters from the X-Men franchise. And also a few fan favorites, unlockable characters like Deadpool, Iron Man, and Professor X.
There are also a few PSP exclusives like Cable, Cannonball, Dark Phoenix, and X-Man.

Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep

Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep is a prequel to the Kingdom Hearts and was released for the PSP back in 2010.
It is an action-RPG and one of the highest rated titles for PSP.
The game is into three scenarios, each featuring different protagonist and the gameplay also differs on the basis of their abilities and power.

LEGO Batman: The Video Game

LEGO Batman: The Videogame is an RPG title for PSP which features Batman and Robin who fight the most dangerous foes who have broken out of the Arkham Asylum.
It features over 20 villains from DC-verse and an exceptionally good story mode which is distributed in 4 different scenarios.

Crash Of The Titans

Ported by the Supervillain Studios for PSP, Crash Of The Titans stays similar to its console counterpart. The game has cartoony graphics like the PS2 version does and features an awesome gameplay. The game features fifteen monsters with their own abilities whom you can jack up to do your biddings. All in all, it has good combat, special attacks, cutscenes, and pretty good graphics when you consider other PPSSPP games.

LittleBigPlanet

LittleBigPlanet feels like a polished HD version of Mario Bros. It features a cute little character named Sackboy who goes through a bunch of missions where you have to run, jump and grab from one to another side of the screen. It might seem pretty simple but LittleBigPlanet is one of the most soothing titles for PSP and you’d definitely enjoy it on the PPSSPP emulator.

Ben 10: Protector Of Earth

Rated 7.8 out of 10, Ben 10: Protector Of Earth is one of the best RPG-action titles for PSP. Earth is in danger and about to be swallowed in darkness when Ben suddenly finds out his alien powers are gone. The Tennyson family is on the quest to get back the source of Ben’s abilities. And fight the Vilgax who has united with the Forever Knights, and Kevin 11 to capture the Omnitrix.
The game features different characters from the TV show including different aliens with their own sets of abilities.

Star Wars: Battlefront II

Star Wars: Battlefront II is an action-shooter game for PSP released back in 2005. The characters in the game are based on the prominent TV series and movie Star Wars.
It has very awesome story missions in the single-player mode which are based on 6 Star Wars films. Battlefront II may not be one of the highest rated titles. But, It is a treat for the franchise fans and one of the most enjoyable PPSSPP games.

Best PPSSPP Games: Fighting

TEKKEN 6

This one needs no introduction at all. TEKKEN has always been the favorite fighting game of every 90’s dude (We are not kids anymore ;_; ). TEKKEN 6 is a graphic intensive fighting game where you get to choose from like 43 or more different characters. Each character has a number of different combos and special moves. It has different gaming modes and features a very interesting story mode. Undoubtedly Tekken is one of the best PPSSPP games and one of my favorite all-time gaming titles.

TEKKEN: Dark Ressurection

TEKKEN: Dark Ressurection follows the same storyline of TEKKEN 5 but adds two new characters and returns one character (which are for you to find out). It follows the consequences of King Of Iron Fist Tournament 4, Heihachi Mishima plans to steal the Devil Genes of Kazuya and Jin Kazama. The storyline of the game is very interesting and the gameplay is as good as it can be.

WWE SmackDown vs RAW 2011

SmackDown vs RAW 2011 is an RPG wrestling game which is nothing less than a treat for WWE fans. You can play as your favorite wrestler from WWE in different types of matches and options. You can also modify the outfits of wrestlers and play championships.
There is also a new WWE Universe mode which is basically a type of career mode. You should definitely try this PPSSPP game on your PPSSPP emulator for android.

Mortal Kombat: Unchained

Mortal Kombat: Unchained was released back in 2006 is an RPG-fighting game. It has a very good graphics and gameplay.
You can choose from more than 30 different characters who have their own sets of moves, combos, and abilities.
Unlike previous versions of the game, all of the characters and stages are already available and don’t need to be unlocked. When It comes to RPG-fighting, MK: Unchained is one of my favorite PPSSPP games.

Def Jam: Fight For NY: The Takeover

This game has everything that you’d expect from a hip-hop brawler on PSP. It includes 68 different characters including famous hip-hop celebs like Busta Rhymes, Method Man, and more. Each of them has a different sound, looks, and playing style which is something that I’d prefer over no. of characters. It is a simple fighting game with impressive graphics and advances wrestling style.

Need For Speed: Most Wanted 5-1-0

NFS: Most Wanted 5-10 is all about illegal races and never-ending police chases. There is a career mode where you have to beat the 15 racers from the blacklist in more than 75 different challenges to become the most wanted racer in the Rockport city. It also has some other game modes like Instant Race, Custom Race, Outrun, and Turner Takedown.

There are also different race modes like Circuit, Sprint, Lap Knockdown, and Time Trial.
You can build your favorite ride by winning the races and buying & upgrading your vehicles.

Wipeout Pure

Wipeout Pure is an adrenaline racing game which was released back in 2005 for PSP. It has awesome 3D graphics and animations.
You have to race on a curvy track in a totally different environment. It features futuristic vehicles and awesome soundtracks which gives you one of the best racing experience ever. You can also play the 8 player tournament via wi-fi.

Ridge Racer

Ridge Racer is a classic arcade racing game which was released for the Sony PSP. It has a very interesting gameplay. You can race on 24 circuits on the mind-blowing speed and can also drift through the curves. There are different gaming modes like World-Tour mode, Time-Attack and a wireless battle mode where you can race with up to 8 players via wi-fi.

MotorStorm: Arctic Edge

Get ready to race on the freezing tracks of Arctic with the MotorStorm: Arctic Edge. The game features an awesome 3D gameplay, icy-curvy tracks, and a bunch of vehicles including bikes, trucks, and cars. There are different types of racing modes like normal races, Speed checkpoint challenge, Time ticker, and more.

Midnight Club 3 DUB Edition

Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition is the first game in Midnight Club series to feature real-life licensed cars.
This is an arcade racing game which mainly focuses on high-speed driving. Also, the game features different soundtracks and it is one of the highest rated PPSSPP games.

Moto GP

Moto GP for PSP gives you data for the 2005-2006 season. It has a no. of interesting game modes that you can play. The most important mode is the Season mode. You will be riding through each round of a real Moto GP season. You have the option to practice and enter qualification after which you race for points in the championship. From my own personal experience, I can tell you that it isn’t a game that you can master casually, it takes a whole lot of concentration to make sure that you stay on track.

F1 06

This is a racing simulation game made especially for the diehard Formula One fans. Gamers who were looking for Formula one fix are satisfied to some extent with this one. Sony’s Formula one 06 is although a little rough around the edges but is still one of the best attempts at making games of this genre. This game is surprisingly addictive. AI drivers are very close to real ones. The major drawback of both the versions of F1 is the missing online play.

SBK’07: Superbike World Championship Review

SBK’07 faces tough competition with Moto GP. But it provides a good alternative for it too. Milestone, the developers have given more focus to the details. This sport is followed a lot by tuning and modding community. The game grew out to be a great success due to the plenty of customisation options that are available. Online play is completely absent and multiplayer mode is limited to a maximum of 4 players via local area network.

F1 2009

PSP owners got their hands first on F1 2009 while other platforms like Xbox 360, PS3 and PC had to wait till 2010. It is similar to the F1 06 but with better graphics and a new season. The tracks are updated along with the cars and rider stats. Still, no online multiplayer option was provided and we have a decent 4-player local wireless mode.

Sonic Rivals

Starts as a friendly competition between Sonic and Knuckles, Sonic Rivals is a 2D racing game built on a 3D platform. Get ready to go head to head with Sonic’s enemies and rivals in an action racing game where the winner gets it all. The game allows users to use power ups and boosts to beat up the competition and emerge as a winner. The game features multiple levels and has very appealing visuals. If you are a Sonic fan then you should definitely try this racing combat on the PPSSPP emulator.

Lumines

Lumines is a strategic puzzle game which was released back in 2004 for the Sony PlayStation Portable.
Your objective is to bust the blocks and clear the screen by connecting blocks of the same color. It has 24 levels with different musical themes and sound effects. It also offers singleplayer and multiplayer gameplay modes.

Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the warlords

We classify puzzle quest as a puzzle-RPG game. What makes this game really addictive is its characters, spells, and mounts which have different strengths and add up something different to it. Every platform on which this game is released, it has been a hit. The RPG aspect of Puzzle Quest adds challenging and interesting aspects to this basic game.

Lumines II

This is a puzzle game and puzzle games are the perfect fit for PSP. PSP is also a good choice for games that are played in short sessions like puzzles because of its portability. This is one of those addictive PPSSPP games where you have a flashy background which will turn flashier as you play more and better. The high scores will help you to unlock new images and music.

Cube

The game sounds simple, you have to move the cube from the start to finishing point on the track. The different obstacles make the game challenging and interesting. This is a basic game with simple graphics. For short gaming sessions, I prefer this game because it requires a lot of your brain. Once you get better you will start liking this game.
